Woman wounded, 2 children unharmed after I-94 freeway shooting in Detroit

DETROIT (FOX 2):Early Thursday morning, an unidentified individual shot up a woman’s car on I-94, injuring her.

Around 1:40 in the morning, the victim was on the westbound side of the freeway close to Mount Elliott when someone began firing at her car, according to Michigan State Police. Two children in the woman’s car were unharmed, but she was struck.

While a family member picked up the children, the woman was rushed to a hospital, where her health is now unknown.

Early on Christmas morning in Detroit, a victim was shot during a robbery at a petrol station but was able to flee. When the victim was spotted fleeing on I-94 close to Van Dyke, police were summoned.

Shell shells were discovered on the freeway, and the victim’s car had multiple bullet wounds, according to the police.

“Currently, we don t know why the driver was shot at and do not have any information on the suspect or suspect vehicle,” said MSP First Lieutenant Mike Shaw. “While detectives are using all the technology available to investigate this shooting, we are asking members of the community who may have information to call either 855-MICH-TIP or Crime Stoppers at 800-SPEAK-UP.”
