World’s first ‘flying ferry’ coming to tourist hotspot in the US – it’s fastest EV that exists with longest range
Visitors will be able to enjoy shorter travels in style as a FLYING boat glides to a resort in Idaho.
The quickest EVboat was introduced by Swedish boat manufacturer Candela in collaboration with transportation provider FlyTahoe.
The 15 million guests who visit Lake Tahoe each year will be able to fly from one ski slope to another with the Candela P-12 hydro foiling ferry.
For a short 30-minute ride, passengers can board the world’s fastest electric boat and avoid traffic.
Additionally, the boat doesn’t require diesel, making it inexpensive to operate, thus FlyTahoe won’t have to spend a lot of money to maintain the program.
The ship can accommodate bikes and ski gear and has 30 seats.

Ever since it was introduced as public transportation in Stockholm, Sweden, industry executives have referred to it as a “game changer”.
Ryan Meinzer, the founder and CEO of FlyTahoe, hailed the new technology and the improvement in fuel emissions.
“It’s ironic that while millions, myself included, drive around Lake Tahoe to admire its beauty, the road sediment we generate contributes to the largest threat to the lake’s famous cobalt blue clarity,” he stated.
“Our service will provide faster transport than cars or buses while keeping the lake blue.”
The ferry’s underwater wings keep it flying above the water, so passengers who are seasick need not worry about the voyage.
The boat can go longer and faster without gas because it uses less energy when flying over the surface.
“It essentially functions similarly to a jet fighter, which is continuously balanced using ailerons,” Candela’s founder and CEO, Gustav Hasselskog, stated.
“The principle of the P-12 is the same, except our wings fly in water instead of air.”
Since Lake Tahoe never freezes, FlyTahoe intends to run the new boat all year round.
According to Meinzer, if the boat is a huge hit with skiers, it may lead to the installation of other cutting-edge electric boats across the globe.

A shuttle with a maximum capacity of 31 passengers is the Candela P-12 hydro foiling ferry.
It uses water wings to propel itself forward, allowing it to hover feet above the water.
By eliminating drag, the boat can reach speeds of about 29 miles per hour.
“Today’s ferries travel slowly on urban waterways due to massive wake generation,” Candela said.
“But with P-12 electric hydrofoil shuttle ship, you can enjoy faster commuting.”
The ferry can go 40 nautical miles before needing to be charged, and it weighs 22046 pounds.
“This fusion of flight and electric technologies not only unveils a powerful new business opportunity with nearly 10 times operational efficiency but also offers an unmatched customer experience of comfort and safety,” the chief executive officer of FlyTahoe stated.
“Plus, we’ll not just be moving people faster; we’ll be boosting socio-economic mobility by connecting the north and south of the lake.”
The technology will “unlock the potential of US waterways for zero-emission transport,” claims Hasselskog.
