Xbox is deleting a fan-favourite app and you could be entitled to a refund
Recently, XBOX has been making a lot of changes, especially with regard to its mobile services and apps.
The Xbox Game Pass app was removed, and its capabilities were combined with those of the Xbox app, as part of the company’s efforts to reduce the number of its mobile apps.
In order to enable gamers to download and stream games directly through its app, Xbox has begun to roll out new features, which should be completely operational by the beginning of next year.
Phil Spencer, the CEO of Xbox, has even discussed the significance of mobile functionality in the creation of an Xbox portable.
In an effort to streamline its mobile offerings, the firm just revealed that it will be sunsetting another Xbox app.
The Xbox Avatar Editor app, which was initially made available in 2018, is being targeted this time.
More in Xbox
With the help of the program, Xbox users may design their own avatar to be shown on their Microsoft profiles.
Although the Xbox Original Avatars program will outlive its successor, Avatar Editor was developed in response to the popularity of avatars during the Xbox 360 era.
Users will no longer be able to use or modify their characters when Xbox Avatar Editor shuts down on January 9, 2025.
Because of the poor user base and changes to mobile apps, it looks like Xbox will be deleting the app.
According to an Xbox statement, Microsoft is committed to providing players with amazing experiences, including a wide range of customization options for their Xbox gaming experience.
The Xbox Avatar Editor app will no longer be accessible due to poor engagement and our decision to concentrate on providing alternative player experiences.
There is some positive news for Xbox Avatar Editor app users despite the closure.
Refunds will be given to users who bought anything through the app between November 1, 2023, and January 9, 2025.
However, refunds will not be available to customers who bought anything before to this date.
Xbox Mobile
Xbox has been making significant adjustments to its mobile products, and we believe that this trend will continue.
Xbox has always had multiple apps, although other consoles only have one app where you can use all of your necessary features.
The future appears to lie in integrating the current apps for different Xbox services into a more unified framework.
