YouTube bodybuilder Park Seung-hyun dies suddenly aged 35 after campaigning against steroids & admitting own drug use

The well-known fitness influencer had previously acknowledged his own drug use and advocated against steroids.

With more than 830,000 subscribers, the well-known South Korean bodybuilder passed away on Sunday.

Park’s brother posted a heartfelt statement on Instagram along with the tragic news.

The cause of Park’s unexpected death was also disclosed by the bodybuilder’s sibling.

He stated: “On January 5, 2025, 15:51 my brother Seung Hyun went to heaven due to health reasons.”

“We will not be hosting guests in the memorial hall because our parents are quite distraught.

“Please keep him in your prayers for a restful sleep.

Additionally, his brother posted a sad picture of the 35-year-old’s flower-covered memorial.

The influencer had posted YouTube videos just days prior to Park’s death, so his untimely death was unexpected.

When he came clean about abusing drugs in 2019, he rose to prominence in the bodybuilding community.

Park also revealed how common the illicit substance was in his sport.

After warning about the risks of steroids and bringing attention to their widespread use, the influencer became a campaigner.

According to The Korea Times, Park even disclosed that he was given a suspended indictment in November 2019.

The family of the bodybuilder did not disclose or provide any information regarding the health issues that led to Park’s death.

In a video released three months before to his passing, Park recently talked about a mental health fight he had been facing.

The influencer stated: I’ve been undergoing mental treatment and fighting depression.

“Being unable to continue my YouTube activity has resulted in financial troubles.

I feel lonely even though I shouldn’t, he continued. I’ll eventually find my way back to myself.

Under Park’s Instagram post, admirers wrote an abundance of meaningful thoughts and tributes.

Someone remarked, “May his soul rest in peace.”

“Rest in peace,” wrote another. I hope you’re content up there.
