911 Calls Reveal Harrowing Details of Fatal Law Office Shooting
DEBARYLIFE – Channel 13 was able to retrieve 911 recordings that described the terrifying minutes following last week’s tragic law office shooting in Summerlin.
These calls revealed that many workers were afraid for their lives.
At the City National Bank Building in Summerlin, which is located off Charleston Boulevard, things may be getting back to normal, but a week ago, a few employees claimed they were afraid for their lives.
“I have no idea, I have no idea. We’re at a legal office, and I just heard a deposition. Oh my gosh, there are more, please hurry, please hurry,” a Prince Law Group employee who wished to remain anonymous shouted to a 911 operator.
With a deep breath, “OK ma’am, take a deep breath for me,” the 911 operator urged.
The Prince Law Office, the scene of last week’s shooting, made terrified pleas. Operators on the 911 line begged for the prompt dispatch of first responders.
“Please move quickly—hurry, hurry, hurry. We’re not sure if he’s still alive,” a 911 operator was told by an unidentified Prince Law Group staff member.
A 911 operator inquired, “Do you see anybody injured right now?”
The worker answered, “Yes, my boss, we think he’s dead.”
Police report to Channel 13 that last Monday, on the fifth floor of the City National Bank building, attorney Joe Houston shot and killed his former daughter-in-law Ashley Prince and her new husband, attorney Dennis Prince.
The Clark County Coroner stated that numerous gunshot wounds were the cause of death for both Ashley and Dennis.
A 911 operator asked, “How many shots are you hearing?”
“Several, perhaps fifteen,” a nameless Prince Law Group staff member responded.
According to sources who spoke with Channel 13, the incident took place during a deposition regarding Ashley’s children with her ex-husband, Dylan Houston, in a custody dispute.
For the first time since the shooting, Ashley’s parents and her three siblings gave a public speech on Monday.
Julie Page, Ashley Prince’s mother, said, “She battled relentlessly, and unfortunately all of our fears became a reality.”
Ashley’s family alleges that during Ashley’s relationship with Dylan, she experienced verbal and psychological abuse and that he frequently sent her a flurry of threatening texts—up to 70 a day.
Dylan Houston and the family’s communications staff were contacted by Channel 13 as well, and they issued the following statement:
“We are hoping that despite the gloom, sadness, and despair, we will be able to concentrate on the needs of the kids. This emphasis includes abstaining from public charges and rebuttals. Dylan is a devoted parent who has a unique focus on his kids’ well-being. We’re hoping Dylan and his kids can get back together soon so we can all start to recover.”
Dennis Prince’s memorial ceremony will take place at the Palm Mortuary in Downtown Las Vegas on Tuesday at 5:00 p.m. The general public is welcome.
Plans for Ashley Prince’s funeral have not yet been finalized.
