Shocking! TD Bank To Close Locations In New Hampshire, Maine, And Massachusetts

DEBARYLIFE – How recently did you have to enter a genuine bank, with real personnel working at the counter and lollipops available for purchase?

The internet reports that TD Bank is closing twenty locations, including the Longwood Branch located on Longwood Ave in Boston, Massachusetts, the branch at the Maine Mall in South Portland, Maine, and the one on Woodbury Ave in Newington, New Hampshire.

The application did not provide the exact closing date.

These are not the only New England locations that will be closing. The file lists two in Barton and Montpelier, Vermont; two more in Caribou, Maine; and two more in Worcester and South Hadley, Massachusetts.

TD Bank is not by itself. As per AmericanBanker.com, Bank of America and Wells Fargo declared the closure of numerous branches.

Although I am aware that this is a different world from the one in which we grew up, I generally enjoy technology—more so, our phone’s GPS. If not for that, I really would still be stranded someplace in Boston’s theater area.

As it stands, the tall structures all around you can cause the GPS to go a little wacky. However, it is difficult to witness, to put it mildly, the closing of physical stores.

You can be sure there will be layoffs even though there’s a potential some bank employees will be able to work remotely and stay employed.
