Tragic End! South Carolina Pastor’s Wife Mica Miller’s Suicide Confirmed, Disturbing 911 Call Revealed
Mica Miller, the late wife of South Carolina Pastor John-Paul Miller, apparently committed herself when their marriage came to an end, RadarOnline.com has learned.
This week, a medical examiner announced her cause of death, following the release of a heartbreaking 911 tape of her final moments. Mica, 30, was discovered dead on April 27 in the state’s picturesque and muddy Lumber River State Park. The discovery of her death sparked a flurry of speculations, with suspicion falling on her estranged husband and other ideas emerging from the revelation that she had previously reported being harassed by an unidentified guy.
Dr. Richard Johnson, Robeson County Medical Examiner, told local ABC affiliate WPDE that Mica’s fatal injury was “consistent with a self-inflicted gunshot wound.”The wound was “not in the back of the head, as has been speculated,” Johnson stated. The medical examiner also advised the public to “await the full timeline of events before making assumptions and coming to conclusions.”

The sheriff’s office also attempted to dispel rumors, noting in a statement that the “death investigation that has tugged on the hearts of people across the nation has been ruled a suicide.”
“The decision was based on surveillance footage, interviews, physical evidence, and the examination of the North Carolina Medical Examiner’s Office,” the agency stated. Mica contacted 911 before her death, asking the dispatcher “if her phone could be located because she was going to kill herself and wanted her family to be able to find her body,” according to officials. She was heard asking the question on a terrifying audio clip of the call acquired by WPDE.
After Mica hung up, the dispatcher was unable to contact her but was able to locate her cell phone at the state park. Investigators discovered her automobile in the parking lot, which included a firearm receipt, they added. An individual approached and reported discovering a bag “near the water edge” with Mica’s ID. The individual stated that “he heard someone crying and a gunshot while he was fishing.”
Mica’s body was found in the water, along with a 9mm handgun, according to the sheriff’s office.
Investigators knew Sarah and Pastor Miller “had been separated and were involved in the legal system,” so they inquired about his whereabouts. Officials discovered that the pastor and a lady he was romantically engaged with were out of state the night before and the day of Mica’s death. The pastor was temporarily stripped of his ministerial duties for “a time of healing, counsel, and guidance, pursuant to our governing instrument,” according to WPDE.
Pastor Miller drew scrutiny earlier this month when he reportedly “laughed and appeared entirely at ease” before announcing at his Myrtle Beach church that his wife had committed herself, according to the Daily Mail. He also encouraged the congregation to “leave church quietly and don’t talk about the announcement here in the building.” Before her death was confirmed, WPDE discovered that Mica had made police reports in March, alleging harassment by an anonymous individual.
She said that her tires had been deflated and that she had discovered a tracking device on her car. She also informed officials that she “was afraid for her life.”
