Shocking Video: Washington DC Smoke Shop Armed Robbery Recorded On Camera, Police Seek Suspects
Washington: Authorities in Northwest D.C. say that a thief made off with thousands of dollars worth of marijuana along with cash during a bold theft at a smoke shop.
All of it was caught on surveillance footage.
The event happened on Wednesday morning at Royal Tobacco, a store on Connecticut Avenue close to Calvert Street NW that offers recreational marijuana, hookahs, cigars, and vapes.
The suspect in the armed robbery is now being identified with the help of the public, according to D.C. police.
FOX 5 got surveillance footage of the culprit, who was wearing black jeans, a grey short-sleeve shirt, and a black mask.
The man is seen in the footage originally posing as a client. He talks to a worker as though he is going to buy anything.

Although the image is a little blurry, the suspect can be seen drawing a gun in the upper left corner of the surveillance footage.
The employee is told to go to the ground by the suspect, who allegedly threatens to murder him if he moves.
He then goes on to steal some things, including cash from the register, bags of cannabis, and marijuana goods valued at thousands of dollars.

After a while, the suspect leaves the business carrying the stolen merchandise.
The worker, who opted not to speak on camera, was not hurt in the course of the event.
