FATAL DRIVE-BY SHOOTING! 19-year-old Charged With Murder in Sumter Incident
A 19-year-old guy was charged with murder and attempted murder following a drive-by shooting in Sumter on Monday.
Curtis Jefferson Jr., of Mayesville, was arrested Wednesday and is being held at the Sumter County Detention Center.
According to a news release, police are searching for a juvenile, as well as other individuals and the car involved in the incident.

Officers responded to a report of shots fired at the intersection of Green Swamp Road and South Guignard Drive on Monday at 7:30 a.m. and discovered a smashed vehicle in the vicinity.
Tavares K. McFadden, 32, of Sumter, was shot and proclaimed dead on the spot. A 28-year-old passenger was injured but is currently healing at home.
McFadden’s vehicle was stopped at a traffic light on Green Swamp Road. Shots were fired from a white car that approached and then sped away on South Guignard Drive, according to police.
