Alert Issued! Two Shoplifters on a Stealing Spree at Walmart Stores

Local law enforcement agencies are hunting for two shoplifters who stole thousands of dollars worth of merchandise from Walmart locations across the state. In a social media post, the Bryant Police Department stated that this is an issue that they believe is occurring in numerous states and that they are aware of at least two establishments that these shoplifters have recently targeted in Arkansas.

After police got calls about suspected shoplifters at Bryant Walmart, store surveillance tape revealed two males finding box fans, removing them, and then placing other things in the boxes to conceal the stolen items as they departed the store.

The film also allowed them to identify the suspects’ cars and notify other law enforcement agencies.

According to the Bryant Police Department, the suspects made it to Clark County, where they were chased and abandoned their car with the things behind a home.

The Bryant Police Department collaborated with Malvern, Arkadelphia, and Clark County agencies to recover approximately 130 items worth $10,000; the majority of the stolen items were electric razors.

They think that more than two stores were targeted during the stealing spree.

Sergeant Todd Crowson explained why the public should not take shoplifting lightly. “You know quite a few people. They’ll witness a story like this and chuckle, thinking, “That was really creative.” But they don’t comprehend what happens when people steal something like that. Especially high-dollar items, and then there are legitimate customers that come in and buy goods, and you can see how prices are rising. Todd Crowson, PIO of the Bryant Police Department, explained why many of these fees have risen.

Officials encourage anyone with knowledge to speak up, but they also advise against approaching a suspect directly.

“I am sure someone out there knows anything about this. There is no doubt in my mind. And if you do, simply do the right thing. Even if you do not contact us, please contact your local law enforcement department, inform them of the situation, and let us work to get these folks off the streets,” Crowson added.

The suspects are not in custody, and the inquiry is ongoing.
