“Alert!” Severe Weather Threat Looms In Maryland For Mid-Week
Baltimore — There’s a chance of showers and thunderstorms this week in Maryland as the temperature rises. The temperature will rise to about 90 degrees tomorrow, May 22, with dew points in the 60s, which will maintain some humidity in the air.
Western Maryland has been assigned a minimal (1/5) probability of severe to-serve storms by the Storm Prediction Center.
As of right now, neither the Eastern Shore nor Central Maryland are in danger. Through the afternoon and early evening, a few isolated sub-severe storms could develop that are brief.
Rain is necessary to bring some coolness when the temperature reaches that high.
Furthermore, if all the conditions are met, Thursday, May 23, is the greatest day to witness strong to severe storms.

Central Maryland and the Eastern Shore are at a marginal (1/5) probability of strong to-serve storms, according to the Storm Prediction Center. If these storms intensify, there might be hail and strong winds.
The only problem is that there’s a chance of rain and cloud cover in the morning, which might reduce activity.
For the present, the models’ depictions of wind shear and instability seem good. Over most of New England and Maryland, we could see some nice thunderstorms as long as the morning doesn’t stabilize the atmosphere.
