Arizona Parking Laws: Is It Legal to Park in Front of a Neighbor’s House?

DEBARYLIFE – My sister used to have a vengeful neighbor years ago. Long before she moved there, the man had lived in the home next door for many years.

He assumed some behaviors would always be there. He became enraged with everyone who dared to disturb his schedule. or got a harsh reprimand, at the very least.

Every day after work, he would always park his large work truck in front of his house. He would become upset if my sister hosted a large number of guests because some of us would mistakenly claim the space in front of his house before he could arrive home.

He always knew, somehow, that the criminal had ties to my sister. He would therefore march over and insist that the offending car be moved to a location that was, well, less irritating to him. If the offending vehicle wasn’t moved soon enough, he would threaten to contact the police. Was he correct?

Is It Against the Law in Arizona to Leave Your Automobile in Front of a Private Residence?

When someone parked in front of his house, was the Irascible Man right to complain loudly? Was he spouting hot air, or would calling the police have given him the backing he wanted?

Is It Legal?

Ultimately, he would have been unlucky. As long as they are not obstructing a driveway or breaking any other parking regulations, it is acceptable for someone to park in front of your home on a public street.

This person probably knew it too, but he was always so grumpy that none of us ever confronted him. Nothing says it should be done just because it’s legal. Parking in front of someone else’s home isn’t always kind or thoughtful.

We found out that this person got up quite early in the morning and headed off to work. His ritual was a sacrosanct part of his day, and we normally just did as he requested and relocated our cars, even though he was usually rather grumpy when he insisted that the offending car be moved.

There was no use in making things difficult for my sister, who had to live with this person next door, after all.
