Carbondale Shooting Suspect Arrested, Faces Attempted Murder and Aggravated Battery Charges
CARBONDALE, Illinois – Recently, Kaemarius Parks was taken into custody by law enforcement at a residence in Centralia, Illinois, in connection with an investigation into a shooting that took place in Carbondale on May 18.
The arrest took place on the 25th of May. According to the Carbondale police department, Parks initially refused to come out of the house, but he eventually showed up and surrendered to the authorities. After that, he was transported to the Marion County Jail, and he has since been transferred to the Jackson County Jail as an extradition.
As a result of a shooting that took place in Carbondale on May 18, two individuals were transported to a nearby hospital, according to a more recent press release issued by the Carbondale police department.
At around 6:50 in the morning, officers from the Carbondale Police Department arrived at the incident on S. Lewis Lane. The two victims were then transported to the Memorial Hospital of Carbondale. Court documents that may be accessed online indicate that Parks is facing a total of five accusations. The charges include three counts of aggravated violence, three counts of attempted murder, and three counts of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon.
With a preliminary hearing scheduled for June 25 in Jackson County, Parks is scheduled to appear in court once again.
