“Catch” And “Jail!” Man Arrested In Connection With Fatal Shooting During Armed Robbery In NW DC
WASHINGTON — According to officials with the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD), a man from Washington, D.C., is being charged for his role in a shooting that occurred during an armed robbery that resulted in the death of a marijuana store employee in late March.
According to officials, on March 27, two individuals entered a dispensary located in the 5100 block of Georgia Avenue, Northwest, brandishing firearms. Money and property were requested by the two individuals.
After the victims cooperated, one of the suspects shot an employee during the robbery, took the money, and left the area, according to authorities.
Officials said that when the worker, Philip Prendergast, 41, of Silver Spring, was transferred to a hospital, he passed away.

Trenton Collins, 21, of Northwest was taken into custody on Monday, May 6, and charged with homicide, according to authorities.
