Duke Energy recognizes Kentucky, Ohio partners with 2024 Economic Development Awards

The 2024 Duke Energy Economic Development Awards, which honor local towns and individuals who consistently promote regional growth and economic development initiatives, were just announced by Duke Energy.

These honors were first given out in 2023 and are given out every year in the Ohio and Kentucky service territories of the firm.

The Duke Energy Economic Development Awards for 2024 consist of:

Boone County and Build & Elevate NKY (BE NKY) received the Partner Achievement Award in recognition of their numerous requests for information on projects interested in locating in the area, their continued collaboration with Duke Energy, and their dedication to promoting local economic development.

Clermont County was given the Visionary Achievement Award in recognition of their proactive approach and collaboration with Duke Energy to promote economic development at both new and current locations.

Energizing Economic Development Awards were given to the Duke Energy Natural Gas Business Unit and Brendan Lyshe, Duke Energy distribution electric planner, for their ongoing support and assistance with economic development demands that call for careful and in-depth engineering.

Duke Energy has contributed $3.98 billion in capital investment and 5,973 new employment to the area since 2020. The Duke Energy Economic Development team secured new firm investments last year by collaborating with state, regional, and economic development partners. This led to the creation of 16,000 new employment in the communities the company serves and over $26 billion in capital investment.

Additionally, by locating, evaluating, and enhancing high-potential industry sites to increase their competitiveness, Duke Energy’s Site Readiness Program promotes regional growth. Since its inception, the program has assessed 39 locations in Ohio and Kentucky, creating more than 5,300 employment and more than $2.3 billion in capital investment.
