FIVE DEAD, INCLUDING A CHILD, in Devastating Three-vehicle Crash on St. Helena Island
Authorities said on Thursday that a horrific three-vehicle crash that occurred close to the southern coast of South Carolina resulted in the deaths of five persons, including a child who was just four years old.
According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, a BMW was driving south on a road on St. Helena Island on Wednesday night when the driver attempted to pass a Toyota truck that was also headed south.

A head-on collision between a BMW and a Honda car heading in the northern direction was reported by many news outlets. This collision caused the BMW to flip over and catch fire. According to the complaints filed by the police, the Toyota ended up colliding with the BMW after the initial collision had already taken place.
The four people who were riding in the BMW as well as the driver of the Honda, who was also the only person in that vehicle, all passed away at the site, according to the Beaufort County Coroner David Ott.

Henry Watson, 31, Tiera Seabrook, 31, and Jaycean Perry, 4, all of whom were inhabitants of St. Helena Island, were named as the deceased motorists by the coroner. Raymone Dagin, 26, and Mary Seabrook, 46, both of Beaufort, were recognized as the deceased drivers. Nobody was hurt, including the driver of the Toyota.
An investigation into the accident is still ongoing, according to the patrol.
