Hillsborough Deputies’ Body Cam Video Captures Arrest of Suspect in ‘Brutal’ Double Murder Case

TAMPA, FLA — The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office officers apprehended a “dangerous” double murder suspect on Thursday, according to body cam footage that was made public. The guy is accused of killing both a lady and a child.

In a forested area between Interstate 4 and Glen Harwell Road, approximately a mile and a half from the house on Sumner Road where the victims were discovered beaten to death on Wednesday night, K-9 deputies reported they had apprehended Angel Gabriel Cuz-Choc.

Cuz-Choc was seen walking away from the 5600 block of Glen Harwell Road, which was home to an abandoned farmhouse and barn. He ran to a location with very dense vegetation after realizing that an undercover cop was observing him, according to HCSO.

Chronister remarked, “He might have been able to outrun the deputies’ visual sight, but he couldn’t outrun this K-9’s scent.” “The K-9 led us directly to him.”

Chronister claimed that Cuz-Choc managed to escape the K-9’s hold and escape his jacket. Deputies arrived and took him into arrest.

A half mile from the scene of Cuz-Choc’s capture, Peggy Slappey stated, “I’m glad he’s caught, but second, it’s kind of scary.” This neighborhood is merely rural. I’ve spent my entire life here. This kind of behavior is indicative of anything unusual, so you can tell something is wrong.

The sheriff’s office named the two victims as 36-year-old Amalia Coc Choc de Pec and 4-year-old Estrella Anastasia Pec Coc.

Sheriff Chad Chronister said in a statement, “Not only did he commit an unimaginable crime which cruelly claimed the lives of two innocent victims, he then made the cowardly and ultimately futile attempt to evade capture.” “Our team of committed detectives, who searched every inch of the area, was unmatched by his efforts. Not a single square inch inside this perimeter was unprotected by our deputies.

The sheriff’s office claims that during conversations with deputies following his detention, Cuz-Choc admitted to the killings. He could face more accusations in addition to the two first-degree murder counts against him.

Chronister declared, “Cuz-Choc will bear the full brunt of the criminal justice system for his vicious, vile, and evil actions.”
