‘HE’S GOING TO KILL ME’: Mother’s Frightening Message Before Tragic End, Police Reveal

BAMBERG COUNTY, S.C.- According to the investigators, a woman who was a mother of three daughters and lived in South Carolina wrote a horrifying text message to her best friend before her boyfriend reportedly shot and killed her.

The last time Megan Bodiford, who is 25 years old, was seen or heard from was on April 25. At that time, she sent a text message to a friend, expressing her concern that Jarrett Davis, who is 28 years old, was planning to kill her.

Several days later, it was reported that she had gone missing.

According to WIS, it was at that time that deputies carried out a search warrant at the residence of the couple and arrested Davis on an active arrest warrant for domestic abuse. After the arrival of the deputies, Bodiford was unable to be found; however, her baby, who was four months old, was present.

On a rural road, human remains were discovered five days later in a car that had been burned to the ground. Reports from WIS indicate that the gruesome discovery is located less than two miles away from Bodiford’s last known whereabouts.

The charges against Davis include murder, unauthorized possession of a firearm, possession of a weapon during a violent crime, arson, and desecration of human remains. Davis was arrested and charged with all of these additional offenses.

“He did not have to do all of that at all,” said Stephanie Nickens, who is one of Bodiford’s cousins. “It’s gut-wrenching because he did not have to do all of that.” “I can’t help but think about how terrified she must have been at that very moment,” I found myself saying.

Nickens expressed her wish that Bodiford would be remembered not for her untimely death but rather for how she lived her life.

“I want everyone to focus on what a beautiful soul she had, and what a wonderful mother she was,” she said. “I want everyone to remember who she was.” “She cherished being in the company of other people.”

A determination of the identity of the remains that were discovered has not yet been made public by the authorities. Before anything else, DNA and dental records need to be investigated. Currently, Davis is being kept at the Bamberg County Detention Center without any further release.

As a means of providing financial support to Bodiford’s children in the wake of her passing, a GoFundMe page has been established.
