Northwest DC Gas Station Scene: Suspects Display Firearms, Retreat Following Gas Encounter

Washington, D. C.  – A guy claimed that early on Wednesday morning when he was trying to purchase petrol in Northwest Washington, D.C., he was approached by individuals brandishing guns. This sparked an investigation.

Around 5:45 a.m., on Rhode Island Avenue Northwest, close to 3rd Street Northwest, officers from the Metropolitan Police Department responded to an Exxon station following a complaint of many individuals pointing firearms at the guy. Police said that when the man blasted them with gas, the suspected attackers fled the scene.

Before taking off, one of the armed individuals did discharge their weapon once, however, nobody was wounded.

The individual, who requests anonymity for his safety, spoke with WUSA9 about what transpired.

“I was here trying to get gas and some fellas came with a car…came out with a long gun and pointed the gun at me,” he recounted. “So I used a gas pump, poured gas on them and they shot at me, and ran away.”

He claimed to have seen this strategy in action on a YouTube video.

The victim informed WUSA9 that he was approached by two individuals who emerged from the silver vehicle and pointed long weapons at him, but they did not say anything to him. He claimed to have sprayed their faces with gas as well.

The case is still being looked into and is currently active.
