Pittsfield Man Receives Prison Sentence For Heroin, Firearm Seizure

Pittsfield, Massachusetts –  A Pittsfield man was given a prison sentence after his home was searched for narcotics and a gun by the police.

A Granville man was convicted of child sex assault and sentenced to prison.

The 61-year-old James N. Adams’ Pittsfield house at 45 Cherry Street was the subject of a search warrant that was carried out on October 27, 2022, according to the Berkshire County District Attorney’s Office.

Three bundles of heroin, three bags of crack cocaine, three bags of heroin packets, $349, a Ruger handgun, and ninety-six rounds of.22 ammo were discovered by the police.

Adams entered a guilty plea to six offenses in Berkshire Superior Court, and the following sentences were imposed upon him:

Trafficking in the drug cocaine:

2-4 years in a state prison

To Assemble:

House of Corrections for one day, concomitant with count #1

Carrying A Gun Without A FID:

House of Corrections for two years, concurrent with count #1: Possession of a Firearm with Defaced Property

Serial Number:

Simultaneously with count #1 for two years in the House of Corrections: two years in the House of Corrections while count #1 is ongoing

Carrying Ammunition with a FID:

Two-year House of Corrections sentence, concurrent with count #1: Drug Violation in a Drug-Free Environment

School Zone:

House of Corrections for two years, beginning and ending with count #2; concurrent with count #1
