Self-confessed Murder Leads to Hospital Gun Discharge and Arrest in Kansas City

According to the documents filed in the court, a guy who brought himself to the Kansas University Medical Centre and admitted to killing a woman has also been charged with discharging a gun inside the hospital.

It has been determined by the authorities that the person who was murdered was LaToya Seamster, who was 42 years old. In the state of Kansas, Seamster resided in Kansas City. The perpetrator of the shooting has been identified as Jessie Wayne Buchanan Jr., who is 33 years old and hails from Kansas City, Kansas.

A representative for the Kansas City Police Department stated that Buchanan checked into the KU Medical Centre on Tuesday night at approximately 11:45 p.m. and informed the staff there that he had committed a murder. When cops arrived at a residence on North Hallock Street, they discovered Seamster dead with a gunshot wound. This occurred after they received a call from Buchanan.

The Star was able to receive an internal email from KU Med that stated that Buchanan fired his gun into the ceiling at the security door to the emergency room when he arrived at the hospital. Those who work at the hospital were informed by the Kansas City Police Department that the gunshot was most likely not a targeted threat to the institution.

Two counts of criminal property damage, felony murder in the second degree, and criminal discharge of a handgun are the charges that have been brought against Buchanan, who made his initial appearance in court on Friday morning.

Additionally, Buchanan is accused of murdering or torturing an animal, which is a kind of animal cruelty. A monetary bond in the amount of a quarter million dollars is being used to support his detention.

The killing of Seamster was the eleventh homicide that has occurred in Kansas City, Kansas, in the current year, according to the data provided by the police. When we reached this point in time the previous year, there had been seven homicides in the city.
