Teen Death Case Study? Alleged Drunk Driving Tragedy Prompts Wrongful Death Lawsuit for 9-Year-Old Lenexa Boy
Jefferson County, Kansas – The man suspected of driving while intoxicated and killing their 9-year-old son, Nolan Davidson, is the target of a wrongful death lawsuit filed by his parents.
The claim was filed in Johnson County District Court on April 19 by Ashlee and Aaron Davidson against Matthew Jacobo.
Due to the civil lawsuit’s classification as an “Automobile Tort,” it may involve wrongful deaths brought on by allegedly careless vehicle operations.
On December 1, 2023, a driver who was suspected of being intoxicated struck 9-year-old Nolan Davidson and his father while they were attending a basketball game.
Following an emergency trip to the hospital, Nolan was placed in a coma.
Sadly, on December 7, he passed away from his injuries sustained in the crash.

Following that crash, Kansas City, Kansas resident Matthew Jacobo, 25, is currently incarcerated.
Along with fleeing the scene of an accident, aggravated battery causing grave bodily harm, and possession of a firearm while under the influence, he is accused of reckless second-degree murder.
The complaint regarding the wrongful death will be heard on May 7.
The criminal accusations against Jacobo are scheduled to return to court on May 29.
