There Is An Unexpected Arrest, Nurse Taken Into Custody by Police at Hospital

Miami-Dade County, Florida: Tuesday marked the appearance of the 25-year-old woman in court following her arrest by Miami-Dade County police while she was employed as a nurse at a hospital.

Roxana Garcia Caso was reportedly taken into custody by police on Monday at the Westchester General Hospital, and she was thereafter scheduled to be checked into the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center.

Garcia Caso, a Tamiami resident, was charged by detectives with committing a form of credit fraud known as “a bust-out,” which involved robbing Truist Bank of $56,500.

According to documents, Garcia Caso allegedly obtained a credit card with a $6,500 credit limit on March 17, 2023, a $30,000 auto loan on April 5, 2023, and a $20,000 personal loan on April 20, 2023.

Garcia Caso allegedly failed to disclose his income from 2021 to 2023, according to detectives. Records from the Florida Department of Health indicate that the state granted her license on August 4.

Garcia Caso stated that she worked for Miami-based Cano Health, which declared bankruptcy earlier this year, when she asked for the loan, according to the police report.

How investigators distinguished between the purported consumer scam and bad debt was not disclosed in the arrest report. Garcia Caso was charged with two counts of organized fraud and grand theft.
