Update! Fifth Individual Faces Charges In Connection With Killing of 2 Kansas Moms
DEBARYLIFE – According to officials, a fifth person was taken into custody on Wednesday about the deaths of two mothers in Oklahoma.
According to a news release from the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation, Paul Grice, 31, was taken into custody and charged with two charges of first-degree murder, two counts of kidnapping, and one count of conspiracy to conduct first-degree murder. He was also lodged in the Texas County Jail.
On March 30, while traveling from Kansas to pick up Butler’s children from a birthday party in nearby Oklahoma, Veronica Butler, 27, and Jilian Kelley, 39, vanished from sight. After being last seen together in a car that was later discovered abandoned beside the highway in a rural area of Texas County, their corpses were discovered on April 14.
About the killings of the women, four persons had already been detained and faced murder charges. According to the agency, on April 14, Tad Bert Cullum, 43, Tiffany Machel Adams, 54, Cole Earl Twombly, 50, and Cora Twombly, 44, were all taken into custody.
A released affidavit claims that Adams and Butler’s children’s paternal grandmother engaged in a custody dispute. The affidavit stated that Adams and Callum were romantically involved.
The Five Suspects are all members of “God’s Misfits,” an anti-government group that met frequently at the Twomblys’ house and other places, according to the authorities. A young witness who cooperated with authorities claimed the group had attempted to kill Butler previously and that they were accountable for the killings, as stated in the affidavit.

Last Monday, a judge denied release to all four suspects and entered not-guilty pleas on their behalf.
The deceased’s relatives had come to the courthouse to face the people who were allegedly responsible for the deaths of Butler and Kelley. Riley Butler, the younger brother of Veronica Butler, expressed his desire that “justice is served” in an interview with CBS affiliate KFDA.
“How is it possible to detest someone to the point where you want to kill them? How is it possible to detect your grandchildren’s mother to the point where you wish for her death?” KFDA was informed by Butler’s aunt.
