Alert – Arizona Faces Intense Heat With Excessive Heat Watch Issued for Upcoming Week

Phoenix (AZFamily) – This time of year, temperatures are still trending higher, so the upcoming week will be extremely hot.

Due to the National Weather Service’s Excessive Heat Watch for central, southern, and western Arizona, we have First Alert Days scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday.

Phoenix experiences 101 degrees on average during this time of year, with highs of approximately 110 degrees expected in the middle of the week.

Arizona will remain dry for the next three days due to the high-pressure system that is raising the temperatures.

The forecast for Thursday is 111 degrees. This means that the record for that day, which was set back in 2016, could be tied.

The Excessive Heat Watch might be kept in effect into Friday.
