DRUG BUST ALERT! Arkansas State Police Found Around 900 Pounds of Marijuana at I-40 Traffic Stops

Recently state police in Arkansas made significant hauls of illegal narcotics as a result of traffic stops that were conducted on Interstate 40.

In the previous ten days, the Interstate 40 traffic stops that have been conducted by the Arkansas State Police have resulted in the seizure of 886 pounds of illegal marijuana and one pistol, according to officials from the Interstate Criminal Patrol (ICP). Officials from the Arkansas State Police stated on April 25 that they stopped a tractor-trailer that was transporting automobiles on Interstate 40 in Lonoke County. During the ensuing search, they discovered 143 pounds of marijuana in one of the automobiles that was being transported.

At approximately three o’clock in the afternoon, officials conducting a traffic stop on eastbound Interstate 40 in Lonoke County at the 175-mile marker discovered 120 pounds of illicit marijuana in addition to a weapon. This occurred four days later.

On the 30th of April, the police reported that a third traffic check that took place at approximately seven o’clock in the morning on Interstate 40 in Lonoke County resulted in the seizure of 31 pounds of illegal marijuana.

A traffic stop that took place on Wednesday morning at approximately 7:15 a.m. in Conway County resulted in the seizure of seventy pounds of marijuana that was illegally possessed. It was approximately 1:15 a.m. on Thursday when state troopers reported that they initiated a traffic stop on a van in Lonoke County. According to them, a check of the van led to the discovery of some boxes and bags that contained a total of 222 pounds of marijuana.

According to the authorities, a traffic stop that took place overnight on Friday near the 171-mile marker in Lonoke County resulted in the seizure of eleven bags of marijuana that were vacuum-sealed and weighed a total of three hundred pounds.

“The ICP team of the ASP is strongly committed to ensuring the safety and security of the state’s highways, and their success in intercepting massive amounts of illegal drugs in less than two weeks is a testament to their dedication,” said ASP Colonel Mike Hagar. “The successes of the ICP team are a testament to their dedication.” “Efforts such as these are necessary to keep the public safe and to stop illegal activities that are destructive in our communities.”

Officials from the state police have stated that the ICP has seized more than 4,000 pounds of marijuana that was illegally possessed so far in 2018.
