“Catch” And “Watch!” Indian River Deputies Capture Miami-Dade Fugitive in Recent Arrest

MIAMI –  A 26-year-old Vero Beach resident is charged with trying to cover up and attempt to kill someone in Miami-Dade County. Following a police chase, he was taken into custody in Indian River County.

Leequan Jackson appeared before Miami-Dade County Circuit Judge Andrea R. Wolfson on Saturday and was housed at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center on Sunday without bond.

On April 27, when Jackson’s stepfather begged him to turn himself in, officials from the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office took him into custody because they believed him to be “armed and dangerous.”

After stopping both drivers—a red sport utility vehicle and a stolen Ford F150—deputies claimed to have discovered the drivers were related to Jackson and had dropped him off close by.
