Teen Arrested After Allegedly Kidnapping 2-month-old Son in Nashville

Nashville, Tennessee – A teen was arrested Monday morning after the father of their 2-month-old son claimed she kidnapped him.

Metro police said officers were dispatched to the 500 block of Linbar Drive at 7 a.m. Monday, May 20. When they arrived, they discovered a 16-year-old girl driving a Honda Civic, with a 2-month-old infant in the back seat.

When officers tried to question her about what was going on, she refused and went to a motel on Wallace Road. Three policemen at the motel attempted to approach her, but she forcefully backed up and collided with a police vehicle, according to authorities.

Police claimed the juvenile then drove away, pursued by a fourth officer who activated his emergency equipment, but she did not stop. The officer then turned off his emergency equipment and followed at a safe distance to keep the baby out of danger.

The adolescent drove into Rutherford County before coming to a halt at a traffic signal on Waldron Road, where she was arrested with the assistance of a La Vergne police officer. Investigators confirmed that the 2-month-old youngster is safe and among family members.

Meanwhile, the adolescent faces three counts of aggravated assault against first responders, felony evading arrest, and aggravated child endangerment.
