Pep Boys Lawsuit Resolved: Worker Claiming Injury Settlement Reached Outside Court
Los Angeles, California – A former employee of Pep Boys has settled his case against the chain of auto repair stores. In the lawsuit, he said he was dismissed in 2021 after complaining about being forced to work while injured.
In court documents filed in Los Angeles Superior Court on Thursday, plaintiff Edwin Morales’ attorneys announced that a “conditional” agreement had been reached and that a request for dismissal would be made by May 27. Terms remained undisclosed.
Both parties informed Judge Mel Red Recana in October that they were willing to proceed with binding arbitration, and he issued an order to that effect.

After Morales’ pain got too much, he told Pep Boys about it, but two of the bosses told him to “suck it up” and “that’s your job description.” You’re forced to,” the January 2023 lawsuit states.
Pep Boys’ legal team argues in court documents that Morales was let go due to disobedience and that his accusations lacked substance.
