DEBARYLIFE – Prince William made a brief public statement regarding his wife’s health after learning that Kate Middleton had cancer and was receiving treatment.

Kate Middleton is being updated by Prince William.

Following the Princess of Wales’ disclosure that cancer was discovered while she was recovering from abdominal surgery, William assured the public that she was doing well while fighting the illness in private.

A spectator during the Prince of Wales’ April 30 appearance at James Place Newcastle’s grand opening enquired about Kate and their three children, Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, 8, and Prince Louis, 6.

William said, “Everything is good, thank you,” as shown in a video posted to social media. “We’re all doing well.”

Kate emphasized the support William had given her after her January procedure and subsequent cancer finding when she disclosed her condition in March.

The 42-year-old clarified that it was believed to be a non-cancerous procedure when it was scheduled for the beginning of the year. But following the procedure, testing revealed the presence of cancer, and she is currently starting a course of preventive care.

“This of course came as a huge shock,” Kate said, “and William and I have been doing everything we can to process and manage this privately for the sake of our young family.”

She also shared details on how she and William told their children about her diagnosis.

“It has taken us time to explain everything to George, Charlotte, and Louis in a way that is appropriate for them,” she continued, “and to reassure them that I am going to be ok.”

In an official statement, Kensington Palace said, “The Prince and Princess are both enormously touched by the kind messages from people here in the UK, across the Commonwealth, and around the world in response to Her Royal Highness’ message,” one day after the video was made public.

They are incredibly touched by the kindness and support shown by the public and appreciate that their need for privacy at this time has been understood.”

Several family members, including King Charles III, who was also recently diagnosed with cancer, have publicly expressed their support for Kate. Numerous celebrities and international dignitaries have also conveyed their best wishes.
