Innovative Education: North Bullitt High School Pioneers Virtual Reality Learning in Kentucky

Debarylife – Shepherdsville, Kentucky: The only school in Kentucky using the interactive learning tool Prisms VR tech is North Bullitt High School. It uses VR in the classroom.

Virtual reality (VR) learning is a new way to change the way we teach and help students do better.

“This will help them learn more, and it will give them a chance to leave Hillview and Shepherdsville,” said director Kristi Lynch. “These VR modules go with them everywhere.”

There are a lot of things that can be done with a VR headset and controller. Principal Lynch says that the students don’t get bored with the lessons very quickly.

Freshmen and sophomores who use it are engaged in a digital world that makes the math and geometry they are learning come to life.

The junior Leland Rohme said, “It’s very interesting at first, but after a while you get used to it and think, ‘Wow, this is pretty cool.'” “I believe it was smart of them to do this as a new way for most of the students here to learn.”

Students are up and moving around with Prisms, which changes the standard pen-and-paper classroom.
